Ehrhart Griffin & Associates provided the civil engineering services for the Community Alliance project located at 7150 Arbor Street in Omaha. The project included the construction of the new 120,000 square foot Community Alliance headquarters on the 4.75 acre site.
The project team was led by Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture. The development will replace an aging office building with the new Community Alliance headquarters. The new headquarters will also provide the much needed expansion of Community Alliance’s mental health and rehabilitation services.
Ehrhart Griffin & Associates oversaw the platting and civil design of the project. Along with the 120,000 square foot building, the project included two separate parking lots totaling 125 stalls, a fire access road, trash enclosure and supply drop off area, and landscaped pedestrian and employee patio areas.
Project coordination involved with this project was crucial. For the design of this project, EGA coordinated with the architect, the City of Omaha Public Works Department, the City of Omaha Fire Marshal, the neighboring property owner, Metro Transit, OPPD, and Cox Communications.
Site design elements included demolition, layout, grading, utility services, storm water con-veyance, water quality treatment meeting City ordinance, sanitary sewer system impact analysis, fire department accessibility, and ADA accessibility. This project also included City of Omaha Public Improvement components to design the relocation of an existing sanitary sewer.
